Tutorial Tuesday: Get a Domain Name…Please!
I have said it before and I’ll say it again – if you’re trying to monetize your blog, get sponsors or attract advertisers in any way – it’s important to begin thinking of your blog as a business as well as presenting yourself as one. You may get a bite here and there if you’re still rocking the sub-domain (www.you.blogspot.com) instead of www.you.com, but utlimately, advertisers and prospective sponsors view a blog that has it’s own domain as more professional. So when it comes down to choosing between two blogs (one with a subdomain and one without), it will be the more professional one that gets the gig. That being said, don’t get left in the dust! If you’ve been hestitating because you just don’t know how to move your blog from a subdomain to your purchased one or if you think the process is cumbersome, today’s tutorial will show you that it’s as easy (and cheap!) as 1,2,3.

That was a GREAT tutorial. Thanks for sharing. Ive been a proud domain owner (www.you.com) for three years, but this would have been VERY handy when I switched over from blogspot!

Hey Meleah, thanks! Glad you liked it. I hope it will be helpful for lots of others who are where you were 3 years ago!
Thanks for stopping by!
Great tutorial! I just made the move to my own domain about a month ago. I had NO IDEA how easy it was. I thought I could not stay with blogger if I bought my domain and was turned off at the idea of paying for hosting and learning wordpress just to get a domain. I wish I had seen this tutorial a long time ago!
Thanks Audra! I’m glad you liked the tutorial – hopefully next go-round, the info. will be a bit more timely!
