Kansas City Here I Come
How does the song go? “Gotta find a friendly city, and that’s the reason why I’m going to Kansas City. Kansas City here I come.” Kansas City, Missouri is a wonderful city to visit and to live. It is certainly known for its Bar-B-Q but it has much more to offer. There are great parks, amazing architecture including 200+ fountains, world class museums, shopping and music clubs, especially Jazz and Blues.
It is known as “the heart of America” because of its location near the population and geographic center of the country. It was named after the Native American Kansa tribe. Its winters are not severely cold, its summers are warm and lovely and its Indian summers in autumn are great if you enjoy mild, sunny days and cool nights.
Some of our most famous Americans are form Kansas City, including Amelia Earhart, Harry S. Truman, Walt Disney, Charlie Parker, Jesse James and Buck O’Neil. In fact Kansas City is home to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum as well.
