It’s Christmas Card Time Again!

Like it or not, the holiday season is upon us once again! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas – for many, this is an extremely joyous time of year – probably most appreciated by the people who are savvy enough to plan ahead and shop throughout the year for holiday decorations, gifts and cards. But then there are those of us that buy our kids’ costumes on the morning of Halloween or send our Christmas Cards out on December 23^rd and then repeatedly apologize to family and friends that we got a late start and the cards/gifts will be arriving late this year – again.

Yes, this season can be stressful, so I’ve decided not to worry about all the ceremony so much and focus much more on the joy. After all, it’s the lessons about being with the ones you love, giving of yourself and being thankful that I want to impart to my kids, not the crazy rush and stress that often seems to overtake all the other sentiments. One of the things that do bring me joy is finding beautiful holiday cards to send to far-away relatives that I don’t get to see very often. It’s a small gesture, but it always seems to mean a lot, especially to the older relatives. And when I find unique, quality cards that are 100% post-consumer recycled – at a cost of around $.84 per card, well, that’s something that makes the season even more joyous for me!
