Getting an At-Home Education
The world has certainly changed a lot in the last 10 years. Technology alone has created a host of possibilities for people whose options were much more limited back in the days before practically everyone had access to high-speed internet from the comfort of their own homes. People stayed stuck in dead-end jobs because they couldn’t find the time to go back to school and earn a better degree; limited program offerings at local colleges often meant settling for a second-choice career instead of the one you really wanted. There were not many accredited online schools back then either. And parents often wrote off continuing education for themselves all-together because they just couldn’t find the time for that sort of thing between kid drop-offs, pick-ups and helping out with homework. Fast forward to 2010 and not only can you get an online education, but the choices are plentiful. You can get an undergraduate, a masters degree or even your doctorate through various online degree programs at hundreds of colleges in the U.S. and Internationally. If you’re a self-starter and can benefit from taking classes whenever they fit into your schedule, there are no more excuses for not pursuing that advanced degree. So, all you work or stay-at-home moms who have a desire to do something a little more stimulating than watch TV after the kids go to bed (that is, if you’re not sleeping!), enrolling in an online study program may just be the thing for you.
