This is the second year in a row that we have had the pleasure of visiting Knott’s Berry Farm during the holidays. Every year they rechristen it Knott’s Merry Farm and it’s all decked out for the holiday season. This year, although it was a little chilly, the sun was out and everything was running full throttle. We had an amazing time!
Leading up to our trip, we were so excited because we got to spend time with Snoopy. Knott’s sent some bloggers a Snoopy doll and we took pictures of Snoopy preparing for the holidays. It was so much fun and you can see all the photos on Twitter or Instagram at #MerryFarm.
Of course there are all the usual great rides and shops. Some new additions this holiday season made our trip even more awesome. This year Santa has his own cabin, where you can visit the man himself. While there, you can indulge in some yummy holiday treats like cookies, sundaes, hot chocolate, port, craft bear and more. I particularly liked the coffee with a little Baileys Of course, my all-time seasonal favorite is the maple lollipops which you can get in Ghost Town right on Main Street.
Also new this year, the park has updated the Calico Railroad with Christmas on Engine 41. The kids and I loved the ride and we met some of Ghost Towns residents along the way. It was quite fun.
Nobody can visit Knott’s Merry Farm without seeing the shows. They have the impressive “It’s Christmas, Snoopy!” ice show and we saw a live performance of “A Christmas Carol” in the Bird Cage Theatre. The most exciting was “Snoopy’s Merriest Tree Lighting” on the Calico Stage.
Be sure to visit Knott’s Merry Farm if you have the chance. While you’re there, you can pick up a 2014 Season Pass, which includes a one-time free visit in 2013, unlimited visits in 2014 and other seasonal events happening year-round. Season Pass holders also get special discounts, bring-a-friend days and more. You can purchase passes online and www.knotts.com starting at $78.00 or by installment if you prefer.
